In unincorporated Alameda County you are required to register your alarm with the Alameda County Sheriff's Department.  The cost is $35.00 for two years, and $30.00 after that. Seniors age 65 and older can have these fees waived.  The application is currently not on line but may be in the near future. Until that time you can contact Alameda County Sheriff's Dept. Alarm Administrator Bridget Harbour at (510) 667-4423 or go to the station to obtain an application.

The fee schedule for false alarms, which occur without a 90-day break between each, is as follows:  
First two false alarms - No Charge, warning letter sent with each
Third false alarm - $75.00
Fourth and thereafter - $175.00

Unpaid charges may be subject to a tax lien in accordance with Section 4-6-410 of the Alarm Ordinance.

Alarm users must file an “Emergency Information Form” with the Police Department annually.  There is no annual fee required at this time when submitted.

3 Within 90 Day Period - $50
4 Within 90 Day Period - $200
5 Within 90 Day Period - $300
More than 5 Within 90 Day Period - $200 each
